Moon Botanical Facial Oil

$15.00

The fragrance of the dream plant. The moon in a bottle. Artemisia, Rose, Black Tea, Grape, Apricot and Lychee glory. Yours to apply and work with— for the landscape of your skin is a garden.

Flowering California Mugwort (Artemisia douglasiana) in all of her glory. This member of the sunflower family is native to the western United States and graces our many remote creek sides, & also our home garden. I have fallen head over heals with this aromatic variety over the past few years, and Mugwort’s ability to induce vivid dreams certainly presents itself topically through this oil. Oh the dreamscapes that we experience even as she is drying! All whom enter our home are greeted by her mystical aroma, and this special combination of wild herbs is lunacy (in a good way).

So Ms. Artemisia has shown up, but she is not the only belle at the ball. Moon Facial oil also embraces the softness and romance of Rose. Cultivated for over 3,000 years, Rose’s natural volatile oils of geraniol, nerol and citronellol evoke that antique allure that has earned Rose the title: “Queen of Flowers”. Moon is an instant mood.

We keep the skin glowing and dewy with a naturally caffeinated Camelia sinensis plant (aka, tea) but this ain’t no Lipton, Miss. Hailing from the Guangdong Provence, Lychee Congou black tea is naturally sensual & sweet— offering notes of muscat grapes and rose bushes.

Our fourth element is golden yellow resinous Calendula blossoms. Summer’s little gifts of scar-reducing, skin softening sweetness. This truly herbal oil is made with WHOLE PLANT MATERIAL ONLY— it’s how I’ve always done it, and the way I always will.

I’ve toyed with many oils as the base for my facial oils, and the jury has reached a verdict: organic cold-pressed Apricot is what my skin prefers. Not too light, not too heavy, and doesn’t cause break outs for me.

I use my tallow face creams often for repair and deep hydration, but when I prefer an oil for more moderate moisture (before bed or as an early morning refresh), this is my go to. I wake up glowing and my skin looks and feels amazing.

The special 1 oz square amber glass bottles that I used with white droppers and gold bands are too dang cute, and remind me of the past. As always, I design and hand-cut each label, a labor of love.

I hope you treasure this truly wild herbal oil, and embrace it as an extension of my adoration of plants and luna…. crescent, halo, waxing, waning, full, harvest, bowing, glowing— every incarnation of the our MOON. A touchstone and compass in lives of every human and animal that has ever lived on this Earth.
